Reflections of Christ’s Crucifixion: Glenn Munson

It was Passover and there were about 40,000 people who came to celebrate the occasion. Continuous sacrifices were being made, and the leaders were plotting to kill Jesus. The whipping was enough to kill Him, yet He remained alive so that the prophecies would be fulfilled. He did not die of the nails in his hands, or the bleeding. He died of a broken heart that broke from you and me. He died for our sins. Only a few of his friends and his mother were present. The rest of the crowd was made up of spectators and mockers. He felt the separation from His father that sin created. He bore the weight of all our sins so that we can be free.
