Worship in Spirit and Truth: Tom Moen

The story of the Woman at the Well teaches us that it is important to worship in truth and spirit. Christ told her that the Samaritans knew not what they worship and that salvation was of the Jews. Having the truth is not enough; we have to know Christ who is the one who is truth. When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, the devil tried to twist scriptures to trick Jesus to sin. However, because of many hours spent in study on his own and at his mother’s feet, and his rich prayer life, Jesus knew the real truth and was able to stand up against Satan’s whiles. The story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego shows us that a close relationship with the author of truth gives us the strength to stand up for the truth, even if we are facing a fiery furnace. Through many years of being loyal and faithful to God, they had learned to trust Him. God stands with us during challenging times, harsh times, and times when we face a horrible death. We are never alone. #TomMoen
